Who We Are
Founded in 2013, Nu Trans Movement, Inc. is a Black-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing health equity, safety, and empowerment for transgender and nonbinary communities across Texas and New York City.
Our work centers the lived experiences of BIPOC transgender individuals while creating pathways to affirming healthcare, HIV prevention services, identity documentation support, youth empowerment, advocacy, and community connection.
What began as grassroots community organizing has grown into a trusted resource serving individuals and families throughout Texas and all five boroughs of New York City — the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island.
To empower transgender and nonbinary individuals through advocacy, education, youth programming, direct support services, and equitable access to healthcare, technology, and legal identity resources.
A future where transgender and nonbinary people — especially Black and Brown trans communities — can thrive safely, openly, and without barriers to healthcare, housing, education, employment, legal recognition, or technology access.

Nu Trans Movement works to support transgender and nonbinary individuals in urban and underserved communities throughout Texas and across all five boroughs of New York City.
Our programs focus on reducing barriers faced by Black and Brown LGBTQ+ youth, adults, and families by connecting communities to affirming services, education, advocacy, and opportunities for growth.
Serving transgender and nonbinary individuals across urban and underserved communities statewide, with advocacy at the Texas Capitol alongside Equality Texas and the Trans Education Network.
