Since 2013, Nu Trans Movement has been on the front lines — at the Texas Capitol, in New York City community centers, and everywhere Black transgender people need advocates who understand their lives.
We believe advocacy means showing up: in legislative hearings, in courtrooms, in classrooms, and in the streets. We fight for policy change while delivering direct services that make a difference today.
We fight at the Texas Capitol and in New York alongside Equality Texas, the Trans Education Network of Texas, and other coalition partners to oppose anti-trans legislation and advance policies that protect transgender lives.
We provide direct assistance to transgender individuals navigating the legal process of updating their name and gender marker on government-issued ID documents, birth certificates, and Social Security records.
Our youth programs provide mentorship, safe spaces, and advocacy support for Black and Brown transgender youth — including student advocacy and parent education to create affirming environments at home and school.
We deliver cultural competency and inclusion training to law enforcement agencies, government offices, healthcare providers, and community organizations to build more affirming, informed institutions.
Through peer support, leadership development, and community organizing, we build the capacity of transgender and nonbinary individuals to advocate for themselves and their communities.
We work alongside Equality Texas, Trans Education Network, Resource Center Dallas, and other organizations to amplify our collective impact and build a stronger movement for trans liberation.
Your financial support directly funds advocacy programs, youth empowerment, identity document assistance, and community organizing efforts.
